Child Therapy
Current Child therapy options are available in Chapel Hill, College Grove, and Eagleville, TN. Therapy for this age group is only available in the child’s home. Child therapy involves a significant amount of play, creativity, and fun that our office space is not conducive to at this time. Therapy conducted in the child’s natural environment allows for more caregiver participation, contextualized behavior observation, generalization of skills presented in therapy, and a decrease in transportation challenges. Some limitations of this form of therapy can be environmental distractions and confidentiality concerns. All of this can be discussed more thoroughly during the intake consultation. Child ages currently served are 5-11. For ages 11+ please see our teen therapy options.
Issues most frequently addressed in child- centered therapy:
Anxiety (generalized, social anxiety, panic disorder)
Depression as well as self-harm and suicidality
Trauma (complex-trauma and PTSD)
Grief and loss
Neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism)
Life adjustment concerns
Our Process
-

01
You reach out via website contact form, email, phone call, or text. I schedule a free 15 minute consultation with you to determine if our services may be a good fit. At the end of this consultation, I will send you an intake questionnaire and other information needed to schedule an intake session.
-

02
An intake session will be held between the clinician and primary guardians of the client. During this session, I will gather information regarding the client and we will work together to set expectations of therapy.
At the end of our time together we will discuss how to have a conversation with the client about therapy and services beginning.

03
Therapy services will begin from here. I firmly believe that therapy services should be adaptable and collaborative while also respecting the confidentiality of the child. We will work together to create a balance that you are comfortable with.
Therapy with children looks like a lot of play- though, we will be working on the treatment goals that you have helped create for your child.
