Abby Skelton, LPC-MHSP

As a therapist, I am passionate about providing mental healthcare that fosters healing. I believe that when one person takes the courageous step to seek help, it can spark transformation in entire family units and communities. I have witnessed this healing begin with children, teens, and adults alike, It is a true privilege to walk alongside my clients on their journeys of growth and restoration.

With nearly a decade of experience in the mental health and social work field, my approach is rooted in trauma‑informed, person‑centered principles that empower clients to reach their full potential and live meaningful lives. I hold advanced training in treating trauma (including C‑PTSD and PTSD), anxiety, depression, suicidality, neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD and Autism, grief, and challenges related to life transitions.

Above all, I want you to know that when we meet you will be met with kindness, respect, and compassion. Your story matters. Brene Brown tells us that shame craves secrecy, silence, and judgement. My hope is that you find the courage to speak out. Choose to dwell in your story, in hope, and in healing.

Welcome — I’m Glad You’re Here

Reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, and I want you to know that being here is already a meaningful first step. My goal as a therapist is to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported as you move toward healing and growth. Change doesn’t happen all at once — it begins in small, intentional moments. I’m here to help you navigate those moments with clarity, compassion, and confidence.

I have worked in the mental health field since 2015, serving children, teens, and adults in a variety of settings. My experience includes supporting first responders/military personnel and their families, community mental health, crisis intervention, working with child survivors of abuse and their families, and providing therapy within school systems for adolescents.

My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and person-centered. I believe healing happens within safe, connected relationships, and I strive to ensure you feel both supported and empowered in our work together. I am trained in EMDR, TF-CBT, DBT, Exposure Therapy, Brain spotting, somatic approaches, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), and more. I integrate these modalities thoughtfully to meet your specific needs and goals.

I specialize in trauma treatment, anxiety, depression, grief, suicidality, self-esteem and self-worth challenges, parent coaching and family restoration, brief couples work, and support through life transitions.

When working with me, you can expect to feel heard, grounded, encouraged, and gently challenged. I value the role your personal beliefs and values play in your life, and we will work to ensure your healing aligns with what matters most to you.

Above all, you will be met with kindness, respect, and compassion. Your story matters, and it is a privilege to walk alongside you in your healing process.
